This is what you have to know about the award;
The Bata shoe foundation is providing a $15,000 and two $5,000 runners up awards.This is eligible for entrepreneurs, students and resent graduates aged between 18-35 years. They should be from East Africa. The idea should be embarcing Thomas J. Bata values and make an impact on the community.
This award is primarily targeting students and recent graduates of post-secondary education as well as entrepreneurs.
Individuals entities or teams of up to four people may enter the contest as long as at least two members of the team are within the age brackets.
The values to be commemorated are as follows:
- A commitment to the importance of responsible entrepreneurship and its role in job creation
- An international outlook
- A commitment to ethical business practices
- A strong interest in young people in emerging markets and the role that business can play in creating opportunities that enable them to develop
- A belief that business is a public trust with the obligation to improve and serve society
- A commitment to lifelong learning and continuing education
