Date: 19th to 20th March 2015
Venue: CIT Lab 018
Time: 8am - 5pm

The easiest way to get your apps to the market.
Intel® XDK HTML5 Cross-platform Development Tool provides a simplified workflow to enable developers to easily design, debug, build, and deploy HTML5 web and hybrid apps across multiple app stores.
The intel XDK is simply a development tool that uses HTML% cross-platform to enable developers create and deploy their mobile applications. On 19th, this was a training day. It involved the getting start moment where the three Intel student partners from kenyatta University i.e. Mugiluri Anthony, Bob Raphtone Afwata and George Ouma facilitated.

They helped in the installation of the XDK and the step by step tutorial on developing on the XDK HTML5 cross plartform. Alot of give aways were unleashed during this day keeping in mind that there was also tweeting, joining of the intel developer zone and liking of the "IntelAtKu" facebook page. The tweets/Hush tags for that day were; @intelatku @intel @intelEastAfrica  #intelAtKu #intelAndroid

On 20th of March 2015, then came the real hackathon. This was the day meant for developing and showcasing of apps. Developers went down on their apps from 8am - 1pm, at 2pm they did some polishing for an hour and then pitched their apps for competition. This was a very successful event with keeping in mind that we got a total of 18 apps.

Top three apps

  1. Mini Commander app by Kim Too Flex. This app was able to remotely control the laptop. It was able to navigate in between the documents, music/video player and also turn of the laptop.
  2. The IOT app by Ochola Frank, Joseph Wainaina, Lester Obayi, Derrick Mungai and Allan Cheruyot. This app was able to control the indicator lights on an Intel Edison board.
